Overview

Space Spector is a Chrome extension that visualizes spacing, padding, and gaps on webpages using color-coded overlays. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (none) and how the extension works.

Data Collection

Space Spector does not collect, transmit, store on servers, or share any personal data whatsoever. The extension has no backend, no analytics, no tracking, and makes no network requests.

Local Storage Only

The only data stored is your personal preferences, saved locally in your own browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This includes:

• Filter settings (H/V Padding, H/V Gaps toggles)
• Ignored CSS selectors
• Dark or light mode preference

This data never leaves your device and is only used to remember your settings between sessions.

Permissions Used

• activeTab — Used only to inject spacing overlays on the page you are actively viewing, and only when you click Activate. No page content is read or stored.
• storage — Used only to save your preferences locally in your browser.
