Overview

Color Spector is a Chrome extension that inspects and visualizes colors on webpages using color-coded overlays and a hover tooltip with live editing. We are fully committed to your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (none) and how the extension works.

Data Collection

Color Spector does not collect, transmit, store on servers, or share any personal data whatsoever. The extension has no backend, no analytics, no tracking, and makes zero network requests to external servers.

What the extension reads

When activated by the user, Color Spector reads computed CSS color properties (color, background-color, border-color) from elements on the currently active tab. This data is used only to display visual overlays and the hover tooltip on your screen. It is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.

Local Storage Only

The only data stored is your personal preferences, saved locally in your own browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.localAPI. This includes:

This data never leaves your device and is only used to remember your settings between sessions.
